This is a BRAND NEW FCC and UL approved ceiling fan remote control and receiver. This is a Universal Hampton Bay Remote and Receiver. Made by Hampton Bay but will work on almost all fans. It will control both the light and fan functions (High/Medium/Low fan speed and increase/decrease light). This will works on fans with regular light bulbs ONLY(incandescent) and not fluorescent bulbs or CFL (compact fluorescent) bulbs. 9V battery is not included.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Neat gadget
Works well with my Hunter fan. Installation was a breeze.
The receiver fits well in the fan's canopy, installs horizontally above the ball attachment.
Points to note:
Will not work on solid state fans, meaning fans that changes speed by by energizing different coils within the motor winding by way of a selector switch (as in some older fans). This product is designed for fans that vary their speeds by changing the capacitance in the circuit.
Once the unit is installed, the manual pull switch for the fan must be left in the High speed position at all times to allow speed variation via the remote.
The light pull switch must also remain in the ON position.
The only drawback is that you would not have manual control of your fan and lights should your remote fail.
The installation guide is not well done and the illustrations are barely visible.

Awesome Control!
This control is the easiest control to hookup (took less than 5 mins) and works perfectly!! It's small enough to be hidden in the ceiling fan base, and when you turn the lights on they slowly come on so your not "blinded"... I'd recommend this product to anyone who wants to remotely control their ceiling fans!!
Worked for only 1 month
The product quality is cheap. Wires are thin and probably a smaller gauge than they should be. The remote is light plastic, the frequency switches are difficult to set and right above the battery compartment - on mine the battery moved and changed the setting, but you can pick a setting with switches up and avoid that problem. All the above issues I could have ignored had it worked longer than a month. But I'm back now looking for a different remote and thought I'd write a review to warn others. In this case, less cost = less quality. I would not recommend this product.
